Some recent interesting pig news items:

A bipartisan act is introduced/referred to the House Committee on Agriculture in the US called "Pigs in Gestation Stalls (PIGS) Act of 2022. This is to prohibit the confinement of pregnant sows on a national level. Not sure if this is the first attempt to propose a national legislation related to pig welfare, but it would be interesting to follow up on this!

Related to this, Swineweb covered a story that illustrates the current US state legislations on pig welfare, originally reported by USDA. It's a nice overview to see how the gestation stall ban is progressing in the US in relation to the production volume.
